May nature be our teacher...

In every out-thrust headland,
in every curving beach,
in every grain of sand
there is the story of the earth."
- Rachel Carson
It is profoundly moving to stand on the edge of a continent, looking out between a headland and an islet, knowing that these windblown waves will continue to deposit their immense energy upon our magnificent shores, with us or without us.
What if we did take the time to listen to the "stories" each grain of sand might tell? William Wordsworth called upon us to "let nature be your teacher". Her great wisdom would gently guide us to doing what we must do to safeguard life on this fragile, island planet. But first we need to gather up our families, friends, and neighbours, and go outside...
