Daring to sing and dance into the New Year...and through life.

As 2009 draws to an end and we anticipate a New Year just around the corner, it's a great time to reflect on how we might make 2010 a full and life-affirming experience, not only for ourselves, but for those around us. I think this little video contains a powerful, yet very simple, message...it's about music and life...

What a wonderful way to value each precious moment, whether we're paddling...or just being. I like that idea.

Duncan.

  3. I knew you were going to be away today, but I thought you were going skiing. What a wasted thought. Guess you were just enjoying some quality time with son Jeff and the wifey! Mind you, you are more entitled to some time off than some others!!!!!

  5. A bit of checking reveals that this is a text of the real Alan Watts (of our youth -- did you know that I saw him live in Toronto at one point?) and that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are associated with South Park (not the school by that name in Victoria!). There are other videos from them of Watts' talks at http://coldhardflash.com/2007/07/flash-animated-philosophy-from-south.html and an especially good one on Zen at http://www.freshminds.com/animation/alan_watts_zen.html

  6. Yes, the real Alan Watts - live, I envy you. The message of the video is reminiscent of our long philosophical dialogues with respect to the transient nature of "where it's at" in about 1973 - do you remember those...a long time ago!:) His talk on "Work as Play" back in 1971 (I think) references running...and the joy of the mid-foot landing - couldn't believe it!
